Gerald P. ''Jerry'' Dempsey, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Friday, September 15, 2017 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Long Island, NY on April 26, 1930 he was the son of the late Patrick and Jane (Wise) Dempsey. Jerry was in the United States Airforce from 1950 to 1954. Serving during the Korean War. After serving his country he worked at Harrison Radiator until his retirement.
Jerry was a member of Divine Mercy Parish, the Veterans Association, Rainbow Computer Club, John Duke Senior Center, UAW, UAW Veterans and the Niagara River Anglers. He was a coach for Midtown Little League and was an avid sports fan and fishermen.
He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Pauline (Carlino) Dempsey; daughter, Lynn (Chuck) Blanchard; son, Mark (Cindy) Dempsey; grandchildren, Karly and Lauren and sister, Alice Dempsey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his brother, Frank Dempsey and 1st wife, Barbara Dempsey.
Friends may call Tuesday, September 19th from 5-8 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319 24th Street, Cor of Welch Ave, Niagara Falls, NY, where prayers will begin at 10:30 AM on Wednesday September 20th. Followed by a Mass of Christian 11:00 AM at Divine Mercy Parish, 2437 Niagara Street, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Jacek Mazur officiating.
