Frank V. Nicolette, 93, passed away May 11, 2016. He was born June 21, 1922 in Niagara Falls, to Thomas and Mary (Muraca) Nicolette.
On April 14, 1942 he married his high school sweetheart, Marie Marillo. They were residents of Lewiston, NY prior to Bonita Springs, FL.
His education included: Trott Vocational (1939), Niagara Falls High School (1940), Niagara University BBA and MS degrees.
In 1942 Frank entered the US Army Signal Corps, Camp Crowder and was later appointed to Supreme Headquarters Allied Expeditionary Forces over-seas duty in England, France and Germany. His Service awards include: the Bronze Star Medal for meritorious service as Chief Personnel Technician for the European Civil Affairs Division, European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal, American Service Medal, and World War II Victory Medal.
Frank's career at Niagara County Savings Bank began in 1941, retiring in 1984 as Executive
Vice President and Secretary. He held offices on committees of the NYS savings banks associations and was a part-time business instructor at Niagara University and NCCC.
Offices held in community services included: Niagara Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, United Givers Fund, Board of Realtors, Niagara Club, and Niagara Falls Salvation Army. He participated in the Kiwanis Club, St. Vincent de Paul Society, and was an Honorary Life Member of the Knights of Columbus and Fourth Degree, serving as Grand Knight. He enjoyed golfing at the Niagara Frontier Country Club, and ministry participation at St. Peter's Church, Lewiston.
Frank is survived by his wife, Marie, of 74 years, daughter, Patricia Nicolette Loncto of Easton, PA, and son, Daniel (Jacqueline) Nicolette of Bonita Springs, FL; grandchildren Amanda (Todd) Hengerer, Thomas and Martin (Tricia) Nicolette, Brian (Tammy) Loncto, six great-grandchildren and brother, Louis (late Mary) Nicolette of Lewiston.
A Catholic memorial service will be in Bonita Springs, FL, July 1. Memorial donations may be made to St Jude Children's Research Hospital.
