Esther L.K. Herman, age 100, a life long resident of Wheatfield, entered into a peaceful life with her Lord, on December 30, 2017 at the Brookdale Niagara residence in Wheatfield. Born August 28, 1917, daughter of the late Gustav and Anna (McGill) Werth. Ester married Martin F. Herman, who preceded her in death on July 20, 2003. She was a life long member of St. John Lutheran Church, Wheatfield; and had many hobbies including sewing, crocheting, knitting, playing cards, and traveling with the Wheatfield Senior Citizens. Esther was employed for many years at the former G.C. Murphy store in North Tonawanda.
Survivors include three children, Sharon (Lee) Muir, Wayne (Lynda) Herman, and Wesley (Barbara) Herman; a daughter in law, Janet Herman; 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, 6 step-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Also predeceased by a son, "Woody" Herman. Esther will be sadly missed by everyone, especially friends at the Woodlands Senior Apartments.
Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Wednesday from 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Michael Borgstede, on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in St. John Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Falls Blvd. and Ward Road. Interment in the church cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the church.
