Edward Louis Jakubowski

March 10, 1956 - August 11, 2018

Edward Louis Jakubowski, lifetime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away on Saturday, August 11, 2018 after a lengthy illness. He was 62. He was born in Niagara Falls on March 10, 1956, a son of the late Norbert and Dorothy (Wilgosz) Jakubowski.
Ed attended 79th Street, LaSalle Junior High School and graduated from LaSalle Senior High School. He then attended NCCC and earned a degree in Liberal Arts with an art major.
He worked in many different capacities and venues throughout the years and his most recent employment was in the deli at Walmart.
Ed was an accomplished wildlife photographer and he spent many hours at the Alabama Swamps and the Niagara River and Gorge taking pictures of local wildlife. His photos were published in many magazines including Conservation, Ducks Unlimited, and The Audubon Society Magazine. In 1982 Ed earned recognition in the Easton Waterfowl Festival in Maryland, taking 1st and 2nd Place, the first person to ever do so. He was also a judge for local photography events and many of his works were published in various magazines and newspapers. He was a member and official photographer of Wild Kritters of Niagara County, was an avid hunter and enjoyed fishing, gardening and cooking and loved progressive rock including Emerson, Lake and Palmer, Yes and Genesis.
He is survived by his brother, Fred Jakubowski; his uncle, Henry Jakubowski; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue on Thursday, August 23rd from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM with funeral services being held at 8 PM. Burial will be private.

Fred, I am so sorry for your loss of your brother Ed. Although it has been many years since I have lived in the Falls, I have talked with Ed on Facebook and have enjoyed his beautiful photography. I pray that you can find comfort in friends and family at this sad time.

Ed was a fun loving person, and I know how difficult this is for you. Know that you are in both of our thoughts and prayers. We no longer reside in Niagara Falls but will be reaching out to you soon.

Fred sorry for the loss of Ed he was a great person and was funny . He was kind hearted I remember the good times we had on 80th street all of us hanging around together.He is with God now. May God Bless You Always, Sincerely Wayne Taylor
