Douglas Charles Hambridge, Jr.
Douglas Charles Hambridge, Jr.,79, of Lewiston, husband of Donna (nee Fuller), passed away suddenly on July 4, 2019. Doug was born in Niagara Falls to Douglas C. Hambridge, Sr. and Ruth Fortune on June 3, 1940.
He went to high school at Bishop Duffy (Class of 1957) and went on to earn a degree in finance from Niagara University in 1962. Following college he went to work at IBM and moved with his wife to Maryland and began a family. His career later took him to Los Angeles and then San Jose, CA. He worked at IBM for 35 years before he decided to take an early retirement and return to the Niagara Falls/Lewiston area.
A loving and supportive father and grandfather, Doug attended many different sporting events and music concerts, coached youth basketball teams, and was always available to be a mentor, advisor, or teacher when any of his children and grandchildren needed his guidance. A thorough researcher and numbers guy, he was already ready to help layout a plan or weigh options. Doug enjoyed living his life to the fullest. He loved traveling with his wife (especially to warmer climates), going to the many concerts and festivals, and spending time with his friends at Apple Granny's.
Doug is survived by his wife, Donna, of 57 years; four children, Tim (Lauren) Hambridge of Seattle, Trish Hambridge of Dunedin, FL, Sue Lehman of Youngstown, and Cynthia (Tom) Pacia of Rochester; two sisters, Louise (Morris) Olson and Julie Ashcroft; six grandchildren, Howie, Kaitlyn, and Jack Lehman, Casey Hambridge, and Ryan and Gillian Pacia. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Susan Fuller; as well as many nephews and nieces and great-nephews and great-nieces. He was predeceased by his parents; brother-in-law, William Fuller; and sister-in-law, Joanne Fuller.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, July 13th at 10 AM at St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church, 620 Center St, Lewiston, NY. A celebration of his life will follow the mass service at Apple Granny in Lewiston, NY at 11:30 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Voices of Hope for Aphasia in St. Petersburg, Florida (
