Douglas S. Dietrich, age 64, of Sanborn, died Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Gates Vascular Institute after a brief illness. Born in North Tonawanda, he was the son of the late Donald and Marjorie (nee Diedrich) Dietrich and had been a resident of Sanborn for more than 20 years. Douglas was a self-employed chimney sweep and had been a custodian for the North Tonawanda School system. He was an avid gardener and will always be remembered for his smile, his jokes and his positive attitude.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Alexis (nee Pirk) Dietrich; three brothers, Daniel Dietrich, David (Patti) Dietrich and Donald (Debbie) Dietrich; and his nephews, Donald, David and Derek Dietrich. Also surviving are several cousins.
The family will receive friends from 1-4 PM on Saturday at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda, where a prayer service will be held at 4 PM Saturday. Friends invited.
If desired, memorials to the SPCA are preferred.
