Deborah's Story

Honey, beloved mother of Richard, NicKolette, Willie III, departed for heaven on April 1, 2017, surrounded by family after a courageous battle with bone marrow cancer.
Honey was born in Niagara Falls, NY, where she attended many schools and graduated from NFHS in 1972. She married her husband, Willie James Mathews, Jr. and had three children from that union. Honey worked for both Catholic Charities WIC and Community Missions before retiring to care for her mother in 2010, Honey enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, cooking and gardening.
Honey predeceased by both parents, Harper and Lucille (Johnson) Pippens. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, three children, Richard (Shameka), Nickolette, Willie III (Erica); six grandchildren, Peyton, Paige of Niagara Falls, NY, Jade, Jayden of Columbia, SC, Nolah, Nicholas of Niagara Falls, NY; one great-grandchld, Aylah; two sisters, Antionette Pippens Brinson of Cleveland, OH, Shirley Pippens Stewart of Buffalo, NY; one brother, Virgil Pippens of Las Vegas, NV; longtime friend, William Wilson, Jr.; host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Honey gifted her remains to the University of Buffalo Medical Research Department. Final arrangements are at the convenience of the family. She will be greatly missed. Deborah; seeker of truth "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path" Psalms 119:105.
