David John Masters, lifetime area resident, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, September 29, 2017 at the age of 70. He was born in Wausau, Wisconsin on September 22, 1947, a son of the late Paul and Gladys (Thompson) Masters. He attended Prince of Peace School and graduated from Bishop Duffy High School.
David entered the United States Air Force in 1967 and served until his honorable discharge in 1970 at which point he began his career as a chemical operator at Goodyear retiring after 30 years of service. He was a longtime member of The American Legion Post 1451 in Wheatfield and he enjoyed golf, playing mahjong, poker and going to the casino.
He is survived by his loving wife JoAnn (Zieja) Masters, two children: Jason (Jamie) Masters and Melissa (Martin) Schebell, Jr., and his grandson Jackson Schebell. He is also survived by two siblings: Gary (Beverly) Masters and Bruce Masters and his sister-in-law Jackie (late Ronald) Masters and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls on Monday from 4-7 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday at 10 A.M. at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 North Military Road, Niagara Falls. Burial will follow in St. Stanislaus Cemetery in Buffalo.
