David's Story

David Kennedy, Sr,. formerly of Youngstown, NY, passed away on February 18, 2017 after a lengthy battle with Parkinsons. He was 76 years old.
A devoted family man, David was very proud of his family and enjoyed spending time with his two grandchildren, David and Mackenzie. A proud veteran, David served two years in the US Army Military Police Corps after graduating from Trott High School in 1958. After his service in the US Army, David was employed as a NYS Trooper for 21 years, retiring from Troop A in Lewiston, NY. Following his career with the NYS Police, David was employed with the US Federal Government as a US Immigration Officer in the Port of Buffalo. He retired from US service in 2003.
David obtained his Bachelors Degree in US History from SUNY Buffalo. An avid golfer, David could be found almost daily at his favorite golf course, the Frontier Country Club in Youngstown. In addition to golfing, David was a voracious reader of military history. David's gentle nature and calm demeanor has had a lasting impact on all people that he came in contact with, whether professionally or personally.
David is survived by his wife of 50 years, Cynthia Kennedy (Pawlak); and their two children, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Tanner of Smethport, PA; and David (Melissa) Kennedy of Youngstown, NY. David is also survived by his three brothers, James Kennedy of Bellevue, WA, Robert Kennedy of Raleigh, NC, and Jack Kennedy of Florida.
Memorial services were previously held on February 24, 2017 in Wesley Chapel, FL.
