Constance A. 'Dollye''s Story
Constance A. 'Dollye' (Eannone) Butera, 90, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on February 26, 2017 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Florence (Merante) Eannone.
Dollye, as she was affectionately known by family and friends, moved to Brooklyn as small child with her family. She would later return to Niagara Falls to attend local schools and graduate from Niagara Falls High School. On September 2, 1947, she married Charles V. Butera in Niagara Falls. Mr. Butera predeceased her on March 29, 1992. Dollye worked as a legal secretary for the law office of Brian Kurtzman, Esq. and Samuel Macri, Esq., until her retirement at the age of 80. In her leisure time, she enjoyed going to the casino and shopping. Above all, Dollye will be remembered for her devotion to her family.
Mrs. Butera is survived by her four children, Richard (Wilma) Butera of California, Cheryl (David) Polasik, Barbara Magaddino and Donna Abbo all of Niagara Falls, NY; four grandchildren, Nikki Polasik, Courtney (fiance Christopher Mielcarek) Polasik, Alexandrea Abbo and Johnna (Anthony) Matias; six great-grandchildren, Kalib and Evan Mielcarek, Anthony, Isabella and Emilia Matias and Abigail Jaruszawicus; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also predeceased by one brother, Bernard Eannone; and was the sister-in-law of Carmela (late Anthony) Alati and late Angelo (Patricia) Butera, Albert Butera, Valentino (Peggy) Butera, Richard (Diana) Butera and Rose (Thomas) Galbo.
Private funeral services and interment was held in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY, at the convenience of the family.
