Bruno J.'s Story
Bruno J. Volpe, 85, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Sunday, August 27th, 2017 at Niagara Hospice House in Lockport, NY. Born on September 9, 1931 in Niagara Falls, NY. He was the son of the late Joseph and Lucy (Conjerti) Volpe.
Bruno was born and raised at 714 20th Street, living with his entire Conjerti family, including his parents, sisters, grandparents, aunt, uncles and cousins. He attended local schools and graduated from Trott Vocational, and later attended college in Buffalo, NY. Bruno served in the U.S. Army from October 1952, until his honorable discharge in January 1953. On April 21, 1956, he married Bessie R. (Certo) Volpe. He was employed with R.B. McMullin as a chemical draftsman and later as a consultant with Sevenson Environmental Services, both in Niagara Falls. Bruno was a dedicated family man who was always helping family and friends, especially with brick landscaping, remodeling, and fixing numerous items. In addition, he enjoyed playing the accordion daily, as well as dancing with his wife and sisters.
In addition to his wife of 61 years, Mr. Volpe is survived by his children, Joseph Volpe, LouAnn (Douglas) White, and MaryBeth (Brian O'Rourke) Safee; his grandchildren, Vincent (Faith) Volpe, Amber Volpe, Anna Volpe, Ashley Wilson, Anthony Volpe, Sherri (Kevin) Guyette, David (Michelle) Heisner, Anndrea Hailey, and Andrew Hailey, seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; one sister, Mary Grace (James) Mansu; nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by one son, Frank Volpe; and two sisters, Carmela Volpe, and Betty (late Frank) Faso.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-7 PM at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 1st at 10:00 AM at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph's Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
