Betty L. (Leuthold) Cudahy, 85, lifetime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 after a brief illness. She was born in Niagara Falls to Edward and Helen (Schueler) Leuthold.
She attended local schools and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1950. She entered the United States Marine Corps in 1951 and during her service she was featured on the cover of the USMC magazine 'Leatherneck.' She proudly served her country until her honorable discharge in 1953.
Mrs. Cudahy worked as a administrative assistant at Rite-Aid and the former Summit Park Mall. She was a longtime member of Prince of Peace Church and she enjoyed reading, crocheting and traveling.
She is survived by five children, Daniel Cudahy, Barbara (David) Girado, Maureen (Frank) Baptiste, David (Deanna) Cudahy and Joseph (Amanda) Cudahy. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Kaitlin Principe, Jacqueline Mease, James Baptiste and Lila, Tess, Kieran and Declan Cudahy; son-in-law, Jeff (late Susan) Principe; and siblings, Marianne and Francis Cudahy.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph M. Cudahy; daughter, Susan (Jeff) Principe; and her brother, William Leuthold.
Family will be present Friday from 3-7 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 11 AM in St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace, 1055 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. The interment will be in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stella Niagara.
