Arthur 'Bud''s Story
Arthur 'Bud' Jocoy passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, May 9, 2017. Arthur was born in Niagara Falls on October 22, 1931, a son of the late Arthur and Violet (Cleland) Jocoy.
He attended local schools and graduated from the former LaSalle High School on Buffalo Avenue. After graduation from high school, Arthur went to work in the trade he loved, auto body repair and painting, later going on to start his own business. He also enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserves in which he was active for eight years. Arthur was also a Lifetime Member of Rotary International in which he had perfect attendance for all the years he was active.
He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Janet (Rickabaugh) Jocoy; as well as two children, Arthur (Angela) Jocoy, Jr., and Aaron (Kelly) Jocoy both of Niagara Falls; and by four grandchildren, A.J., Amanda, Alivia and Ashley Jocoy. He is also survived by one sister, Joanne (late Donald) Roberson; and several nieces and nephews.
The family extends their heartfelt appreciation to Mr. Jocoy's aide, Jeff, whose kindness and care assisted the Jocoy family greatly and enabled them to keep Mr. Jocoy in his own home until the time of his passing.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls on Friday from 3-7 PM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Riverdale Cemetery in Lewiston.
