Anna's Story

Anna G. Sheusi, 99, of Lewiston, NY, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 28th, 2016 at Niagara Rehabilitation Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the loving daughter of the late Frank and Rose (Passamente) Nicosia.

Anna attended local schools and graduated from Niagara Falls High School. On September 5, 1936, she married Carl J. Sheusi at St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls. Mr. Sheusi later passed away in 1981 after 45 beautiful years of marriage together. Anna was employed as a sales clerk at the former Jenss Department Store on Main Street in Niagara Falls. Following her retirement, she spent many years in Ft. Lauderdale, FL with her husband. Anna volunteered her time at the Guildcare Adult Care Center in the Town of Niagara. She also enjoyed cooking, but especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Niagara Rehabilitation Center, especially to the nurses and aids on the second floor for the compassion and care given to Anna.

Anna will be missed, but is now reunited with her husband, who she missed dearly.

Anna is survived by her children, Carl A. Sheusi of Lewiston, NY and Geraldine (Ronald) Danielewicz of Youngstown, NY; grandchildren, Sherri A. McClellan, Carl J. Sheusi, Frank A. Sheusi, Ronald R. (Susan) Danielewicz, Robert M. Danielewicz and Dena (Joseph) Novak, III; great-grandchildren, Evan, Marcus, Riley, Joey, Dylan, Gianni "Gigi" and Elijah. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Anna was predeceased by her sisters Rose (late Joseph) Gullo, Josephine (late John) Dimino, Mary (late Anthony) Cipolla, Frances (late William) Gabrielli, and was predeceased by her brother Arthur J. Nicosia.

Visitation will be held on Monday, May 30th from 4 - 7 P.M. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. at St. Bernard's Church, 218 Hinman St., Youngstown, NY. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial offerings in Anna's name may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 417005, Boston, MA 02241.
