Allan E. 'Corky' Sahr, 58, of the Town of Niagara, NY, passed away on Sunday, October 8, 2017 in Niagara Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Born on October 15, 1958 in Niagara Falls, NY,. Corky, as he was known to family and friends, was the son of the late Edmund T. Teddy Sahr and the late Judith (Lutz) Sahr.
Mr. Sahr was a lifelong area resident. Corky attended local schools, graduated from Niagara Wheatfield High School and attended Niagara County Community College. He was employed as a plant supervisor for Stollberg, Inc. and later as a shipping manager for Washington Mills, until his retirement, due to injury, in 2003. Mr. Sahr was an avid New York Yankees fan and enjoyed bowling, playing baseball, reading and watching old westerns. Corky loved dogs and will be missed by his dog, Tinkerbell.
Mr. Sahr is survived by his loving wife, Debra E. (Walker) Helms Sahr, whom he married on June 29, 1991; four children, Alan (Denise) Sahr, Courtney (Joe) Ploka, Daniel (Elena) Helms and Robert (Sasha) Helms; grandchildren, Alissa, Destiny, Alorra, Alanna, Aleeah, Alaysha, Isaak, Connor and Brianna; his sister, Judy Sahr (Randy) Cline; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday from 4-8 PM in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, in the Town of Niagara, where a funeral service will be held on Friday, October 13th at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Wheatfield Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to SPCA of Niagara.
