Alfred Joseph Sicoli, a lifetime resident of Niagara Falls, died on Thursday, July 13, 2017 in Niagara Hospice House. He was 93. He was born in Niagara Falls, New York on August 7, 1923, the son of Biagio and Rachael (Perri) Sicoli. Al was a graduate of the former Trott Vocational High School.
He served in the United States Navy during WW II.
He retired in 1980 from Occidental Chemical Company (the former Hooker Chemical) as a machinist following 33 years. Prior to that he worked for Chisholm Ryder.
A member of the First Assembly of God, Al was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed basketball, but was an avid golf enthusiast. Up until last year, he was a regular at Hyde Park Golf Course.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Phyllis (Weed) Sicoli; three children, Patricia (Steve) Hanna of Polk City, Iowa; Michael (Carla) Sicoli of Lewiston and Lynn (Paul) Jacobs of Owasso, OK; a brother, Carmen Sicoli of Lewiston; grandchildren, Marian Jarlenski (Shamus Fatzinger); Michael and Jacob Sicoli; Erin Holland; Joshua Jacobs; a great-grandson, Julian Fatzinger; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by siblings, Lucy Bellina and Benjamin Sicoli; and a grandson, Andrew Jarlenski.
There will be no prior visitation. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2017 at 11 AM in the First Assembly of God Church, 9750 Niagara Falls Blvd., Niagara Falls. The interment will be private in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
If preferred, memorial contributions may be made to Niagara Hospice.
